Process to Clean Your Skateboard Bearings

To clean your skateboard bearings below are few steps given that can be taken into consideration.

Step 1: turn your skateboard in such a way that the wheels are facing upwards and in that case, you will need a 13mm wrench or an adjustable spanner, from all 4 axles, unscrew the bolts and remove wheels, and then put onto some kitchen roll.

Step 2: In this step, you need to remove the skateboard bearings from the wheels and to leave them from the wheels you will need a screwdriver, to avoid getting covered in grease place a cloth or old kitchen towel over the wheel, repeat this process for each wheel.

Step 3: You should place all 8 bearings on kitchen roll once all of them have been removed from your wheels, with degreaser spray you then need to spray them all generously to remove any grease and dirt from the bearings. Make sure that you have removed the outer casing first, so the ball bearings are exposed.

Step 4: Make sure you dry the bearings from any excess degreaser and place them onto clean kitchen roll. For this, you will need some ball bearing lubricant from skateboard bearing supplier and in case you don't have this then its work can be done by any skateboard bearing lubricant.

Now with the lubricant, you need to squirt liberally over the bearings and this needs to be repeated on both sides.

Step 5: Place the covers back onto the bearings and make sure they all are secure and as they were before you removed them.

Step 6: With the help of bearing press, press all the ceramic skateboard bearings back into the wheels, check that each wheel to make sure that none of the bearings are wonky as this can damage your bearings in the process and will affect the smoothness of your ride.

Step 7: On each axle place all 4 wheels back, and reach for your 13mm wrench or adjustable spanner, and tighten accordingly.

Step 8: Spin the wheel and squirt lubricant into the wheel on the outside of the bearings in case of extra lubrication and speed, making sure to clean off any excess.
